Pledge of
Allegiance
Announcements:
1) Legislative
update:
AB95 - Domestic Wells is tabled for the time
being. This would force farmers, ranchers and those living where
there are no sidewalks to put a meter on their well and could be
forced to restrict water use down to 25% of normal in a drought
year.
AB123 - Mandatory Vaccines has died without being
brought for a vote.
AB186 - Nat'l Popular Vote has been passed and is
expected to be signed by Gov Sis. Call the Capitol and leave
a msg for the Gov, urging him not to sign or to veto, 775-684-2670
or write at http://gov.nv.gov, where you will click
on the Contact Form, close to the top of the home page.

2) Tue,
May 28, 10:00 am, County Commission Chambers, 1001 E. 9th St, Bldg
A. Please come speak out about two issues Jeanne Herman wants us to
publicly comment on: 1) making Washoe a Sanctuary 2nd Amendment
County and 2) encouraging commissioners to build a reservoir to
handle the flooding in Lemmon Valley. If you cannot make this
meeting, at a very minimum, write the County Commissioners:

Kitty Jung, (no email listed), 775-219-5472 (personal cell)
Jeanne Herman, jherman@washoecounty.us, 775-501-0002
3) Very
important meeting of Washoe County School Board, 425 E. 9th St.
(just east of Evans). Discussing the adoption of the LGBTQ sex ed
concept for grades 4-12. This change will include progressive
ideology on gender identity while teaching a belief system that may
differ from the values of families in our communities.
Parents and families rejected a
progressive sex education curriculum in WCSD and the state in 2017
and the legislature chose not to vote on similar legislation this
year. Yet WCSD is still pushing this. Now it is
time for the parents and community members to voice their
opinion.
If you cannot attend there is still a chance to
be involved. All concerns should be shared
online, boardmembers@washoeschools.net. If that link
doesn't work, please write each of the Trustees at their own email
addresses.

know about the next RMC meeting on Tuesday, June 21, doors open at

legislators, dissecting what this legislative session was all
about. $25/with reservations; $30/walk-ins. Please RSVP
at www.republicanmensclub.org.
Discussion:
Vin
Keenan - DC legislative update and how you can
be a citizen activist from the comfort of your keyboard. There
doesn't appear to be a way to contact Dr. Carson directly. Please
write Congressman Amodei and the White House to let Dr. Carson know
what a great job he is doing.
Issue #1 - HUD Secretary Ben Carson is doing a
phenomenal job. There are 32,000 public housing units and per
current law, illegal aliens are not allowed to use these units. But
they are using them. Carson has a HUD eviction plan!
There doesn't appear to be a way to contact Dr. Carson directly.
Please write Congressman Amodei and the White House to let Dr.
Carson know what a great job he is doing.
Issue #2 - Merit-based immigration reform is precisely
what this country needs.
Issue #3 - Hunter Biden was 'stuffing his pockets with
foreign money' while Dad was VP. Excellent expose by Peter Schweitzer.
On the very day Trump was elected, 5 British senior officials
resigned... were they dirty and did they know what was coming?
report and contact info to share your opinion.
Joe
Morabito - the importance of Trump's
reelection. We old white people can win elections just by
ourselves. We must expand our horizons if we want Trump to win in
NV. Key points to ponder:
1) 50% of the population pays no taxes, which is the
base of Socialism.
2) The history of socialism isn't taught in schools,
but it has failed everywhere it's been tried.
3) We have to learn to play 'identity politics' (i.e.
appeal to different groups by learning what drives them). Some of
these groups are pro-life, Christians, working Hispanics, veterans,
law enforcement, blue collar workers, private union members (not
public). Trump does a good job addressing these groups in his
rallies, but we must also address them in our day-to-day
conversation. Dems have this figured out with all their
single-issue supporters.
Trump only won by 77,000
votes.
There are 100 massive
companies controlling 50% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). All
the rest of US companies combined control about 10% and the balance
is controlled by foreign entities.
Did you know the
debit food stamp program is run by JP Morgan Chase
exclusively? That is the kind of monopoly that needs to be
broken up.
We must, as a
party, adopt a modified version of abortion. There will be
abortion, so get over it and draw a line in the sand and fight it
after the heartbeat is heard (7-8 weeks).
Extreme right-wing
conservatism cannot win elections any longer. Trump's
'Populist" Republicanism can win, so we must embrace that and
celebrate it.
Joe can be heard every Thursday,
2:00-3:00 pm on 1180 AM on your local radio dial. His show is
called CEO Business Mind, but being a political junkie, he inserts
politics into his business discussion all the time.
David W.
Carter - Due to health and financial stresses,
David will not seek reelection to the State Board of Education,
which handles K-12 education. There are 4 elected seats on
the Board, which meets 9 times/year, which take up most of one
day. There are optional committees to serve on and sometimes
it is necessary to attend the Legislative Session to testify at a
hearing. The Teachers' Union is present, attends some sessions
and makes presentations. He is giving us a heads up, in case
we or someone we know might want to consider a run.
Ken
Koeppe - If you want reading material, Vol. 1
& 2 of the Mueller Report is online at Amazon.com for $9-10.
Jeanne
Herman - There is another issue she wants to
inform about: we are losing our County Manager, John
Slaughter in a month. They are in the "appointment stage"
and had a list of 11 - all local - candidates. Commissioner
Herman urged them to get this right, as the wrong decision could
cost the County millions. They will have to hire a head-hunter to
find candidates.
RS2477 - currently there is access to public lands that are not
easily accessible. The Feds are making this increasingly difficult,
especially since 1976. RS2477 is a federal bill that confirms
historic right-of-ways that existed prior to October 21, 1976.
Without this bill, it would get to the point of no camping, hiking,
walking, off-roading, trailblazing on any of those public
lands. US Congressman Tom O'Halleran of AZ has written a
RS2477 and Congressman Steven Horsford is considering co-sponsoring
it. According to Commissioner Herman, every Nevadan will
benefit from this legislation. We need to write Congressman
Horsford and encourage him to sign on and sponsor it. Read
the correspondence about the O'Halleran bill HERE.
Paul
Larson - reminded us that Planned Parenthood
was created by Margaret Sanger to eliminate the Black race.
And they accuse us of being racists!?!
Next
Meeting - Wednesday, June 12, same time, same
place.
