Lynn Chapman - still trying to sell her Dad's car.  It's a 2012 Ford Fusion with 34K miles on it for $7500 (less than low Blue Book), driven only back and forth to the supermarket and church by an elderly gentleman.  Contact Lynn, mommera2@aol.com or 775-356-0105

Lynn also has some extra copies of the "Education Reporter", with interesting articles such as "How Education Sets the Stage for Socialism" and "Did They Malign the Wrong Kids (Covington)?"  Contact Lynn if you would like a copy of the two most recent Education Reporters via email mommera2@aol.com or by phone 775-356-0105.

Discussion
King Buffet - cost of lunch
              Alternatives:
                    *  Scheels - charges for their room now
                    *  Bank at Neil & Kietzke - their community room holds 18-20 people
                    *  Senior daycare center, Prater between Vista & Sparks, with big open room, plenty of tables, chairs, but would only be available evenings or Sundays.
Go to monthly meetings in off-election year?

A brief discussion followed and a vote was taken, which showed overwhelming support to stay where we are, keep the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays meetings and endure the small price increases every year or two.  [After the meeting, I checked my archives and we have been at King Buffet since June, 2011 - 8 years - and we just had our 7th increase, each one 50¢... so just about annually, but it was nearly 2 yrs this last time.]

Vin Keenan, Watchdog for all things Federal. Vin prepared for us information on HR.1044 in the US Congress right now, which grants eastern Indian (as opposed to native Indian) college graduates from eastern Indian schools to get approximately 100K green cards each, up from 24K currently.  This would be available to those who agree to work for low wages and long hours - those jobs sought by American graduates. Call/write Congressman Amodei and the President (who can veto this bill if passed).  Click HERE for Vin's document with contact info and also some suggestions of articles of interest.

Video:    The Four Families of California  shows how just 4 families in CA have ruled the state for many decades.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z-J0I01QP8.

Another video was unable to be shown is "Paradise Lost: Homelessness in Los Angeles", just about 6 1/2 minutes and informative. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D9pZEjSxXQ

In addition, we saw some very clever memes, which I cannot attach with this forum. If you would like them, just let me know and I'll email them under separate cover.  Emailed separately will also allow you to send them on to others.

Gary Duarte - talked about the Hayek meeting last evening with Steven Curtis, a nuclear scientist from Minneapolis, who spoke on the advantages of Yucca Mountain.  We need to change the conversation from  Nevada as a repository & dump to Nevada as an energy state, creating energy by reprocessing and then selling the reprocessed rods to the 98 still-active nuclear plants in the world. The new SMR (Small Modular Reactor) technology is the latest in nuclear power.  HR.456 in the US Congress is a nuclear waste informed consent act and needs to be supported.  Creech is a drone launch facility in southern NV, which could greatly benefit from the SMR technology and reprocessing spent rods.  Yucca would be a huge financial boon to our entire state.

Gary has provided a sample letter to be sent to Congressman Amodei and Senator Cortez Masto:

Senator Cortez-Masto - go through her website, and SHARE YOUR OPINION:

Dear Congressman Amodei:
Dear Senator Cortez-Masto:

I would like to encourage you to support H.R. 456 Nuclear Waste Informed Consent Act, and its inclusion for the Yucca Mountain facility. Before we write off Yucca Mountain, the people of Nevada should be informed and take a much closer look at Yucca and research the Spent Nuclear Fuel as an energy source. Several organizations are working to move nuclear power into the renewable classification, which it does qualify for scientifically, once again, the politics are the challenge. Unless you are well versed on the current updates in reprocessing technology, you cannot make the right decision for the economic future of Nevada.

Sincerely,
<YOU>
